For almost a decade, Richard has been providing timely advice, expert opinion and rapid when required action on matters financial. He has a thorough grasp of current legislation regarding savings, pensions and future proofing which have been of great help to me personally and professionally.

I first met Richard when he gave a clear and very helpful presentation on teachers’ pensions. He understands the common issues that teachers encounter with regard to assuring their future and their wish to feel well informed while not being time rich! I was impressed and asked him to look after my personal finances and visit my school to present to staff here. He did so and many colleagues profited literally and metaphorically from his advice.

He also did a very well received presentation for local primary school colleagues.

Since then Richard and colleagues have run several pre-retirement courses at my school with representatives from schools in Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale. Feedback has been very positive. Richard had abundant energy and loves what he does which is probably why he is very good at demystifying the complex world of finance and pensions.

Richard Wright of Lighthouse Financial Advice Ltd., together with two of his colleagues attended the Calderdale Association of Secondary Heads’ conference at the Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool on 18th November 2013.

The current situation with regard to teachers’ pensions seems very complex because of the different rules which apply to different age groups and periods of service. However, Richard and his colleagues gave a very lucid and informative presentation on the current position which was extremely well received by the head teachers. They kept this well within the half hour slot which they had asked for and had been allotted. They were happy to stay to answer questions and talk individually to people over lunch. They distributed helpful publications and documentation.

I know that a number of the head teachers intend to take up Richard’s offer to speak to staff at their schools on this matter which concerns so many teachers and other employees in schools at present.

I recommend Richard to you.

I met Richard at a head teachers’ conference in the1990′s, where he was giving advice on investments. Although my husband and I were saving and I was investing in a Teacher’s Assurance Policy, the returns were relatively moderate. Richard visited us in our home, to discuss better ways of investing and his advice, over the years, has been invaluable, particularly now we are retired.

He regularly contacts us, reviews our financial situation in detail, and makes adjustments, with our agreement, as required.

Philip and I have fared far better than we ever would have done without his advice. We have no hesitation in recommending him as a trustworthy financial advisor, who provides his clients with an individual service to cater for their needs.

I have known Richard for over 20 years, throughout that period he has always provided a first class service both to myself and other Leeds Head Teachers.

I also know that colleagues at our school have found his advice on pensions and investments to have been extremely useful and rewarding.
